PT Initial Evaluation

Every PT Initial Evaluation is 90 minutes. The entire body will be assessed.

This is for everyone at any ability level. Walker, runner, cyclist, golfer or gardener .

The Functional Movement Screen (FMS) and Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) are the foundations of the initial evaluation and how we will determine where and how to progress based upon your goals.

Video movement analysis is an essential part of the initial evaluation. This will provide objective data for visual feedback and comparisons for assessing progress. For example, video analysis of walking, squats or components of the FMS / SFMA.

The Golf Initial Evaluation is the same as the above.

Video movement analysis is an essential part of the Golf Initial Evaluation. This will provide objective data for visual feedback and comparisons for assessing progress. For example, video analysis of key components of the FMS / SFMA that indicate impairments that limit mobility thus performance and / or may cause injury.

Additionally will look at the Body Swing Connection per the Titleist Performance Institute methodology and consideration of your and your golf coach current swing training goals, concepts and swing feels.

Follow-up Sessions

Follow-up Sessions will focus on the step-by-step process towards reaching your goals and based upon the results from the Initial Evaluation.

The elements typically include three basic categories: Therapeutic Exercises, Neuromuscular Education and Manual Techniques.

Therapeutic Exercises include traditional strengthening of muscles such as with free weights, bodyweight, resistance bands, belts and possibly in conjunction with supportive devices.

Neuromuscular Education which involves the facilitation of the muscle and nervous system, timing and sequencing of movements, pattern motor training, self error detection and correction recognition, and biofeedback

Manual Techniques such as joint mobilization and soft tissue mobilization. This can include, for example, the use of tools such as mobilization belts, bolsters, and tools for instrument aided soft tissue mobilization, kinesiology tape or application of dry needling techniques.

Home Exercise Program is the component where you will continue your progress and is an essential part of achieving your goals. This will be provided either by video demonstration during the follow-up session, via the TPI App, or via OnForm Video Analysis App.

The above Apps will be provided to you at no cost for improved collaboration.
